1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Teleteacher.gh (referred to as "Teleteacher", the "Service", or "we"). By signing up, accessing, or utilizing our virtual classrooms, AI study assistants, and payment gateways, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are registering on behalf of a school, educational center, or minor, you warrant that you have the lawful capacity and authority to bind such individuals or entities to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Teleteacher is an online educational marketplace and interactive learning tool designed to connect Ghanaian students ("Students") with certified teachers ("Teachers") for real-time video classrooms, attendance logs, and synchronized whiteboards. The platform is augmented with Generative AI tools (including Chat Assistants, Lesson Planners, Assignment Graders, and OCR homework scan components) to assist and supplement the learning process.

3. Localized AI Credit System & Paystack Payments

Teleteacher operates an internal virtual credit balance system that governs query consumption for Generative AI features:

• Credit Valuation: 1 Credit is equivalent to approximately 1,000 input/output tokens.
• Free Allotment: New registrants receive a one-time free balance of 50 credits.
• Paystack Integration: All credit purchases, subscriptions, and payouts are handled via Paystack in Ghanaian Cedis (GH₵). Prices are processed including mobile money fees.
• PAYG Bundles: One-time purchases are processed instantly. Credits do not expire.
• Subscription Auto-Renewal: Premium plans (Pro & School) renew every 30 days. You consent to automatic card token billing by Paystack upon plan renewal. If auto-billing fails, your subscription status switches to past_due, and access is limited.
• Refund Policy: All virtual credit and subscription sales are final and non-refundable due to API compute costs. If a system failure or network timeout causes a request to fail, credits are refunded automatically to your balance.

4. Booking Commissions & Earnings Payouts

Teachers may set their hourly rates (in GH₵) for booking live tutoring sessions on the platform. Teleteacher facilitates the booking payments and takes a commission based on the user's active membership tier:

Payouts are compiled and paid out on a weekly cycle through verified Paystack settlement accounts.

5. AI Content Disclaimer & Guardrails

Teleteacher AI leverages Google Gemini models to assist in tutoring and outline lesson creation. AI responses may occasionally contain omissions or incorrect statements. Users must verify curriculum standards (NaCCA) before using generated lesson plans in public schools.

Additionally, the AI is governed by strict ethical guardrails prohibiting advice on politics, illegal activities, personal medical diagnosis, or specific investment/financial advice.

6. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana, specifically complying with the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772) and the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Any dispute arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Accra, Ghana.
