At Teleteacher.gh, your privacy is a priority. We are committed to safeguarding your personal data and ensuring a secure learning environment. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, store, share, and process the information of Students, Teachers, and Institutional administrators, complying strictly with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

2. Information We Collect

To deliver our interactive classroom services, we collect several types of data:

• Registration Data: Name, email address, phone number, photo portrait, role (Student/Teacher/School Admin), and level of education (Primary to Tertiary).
• Classroom Content: Chat transcripts, interactive whiteboard drawing coordinates, attendance metrics (entry time, duration), and uploaded lesson documents.
• Audio/Video Streams: When joining LiveKit video rooms, audio and video streams are transmitted to participants in real-time. We do not store or record live voice/video streams on our databases.
• Financial Transactions: Payout banking routing numbers, wallet IDs, and Paystack authorization codes (tokens representing linked payment cards). We do not store raw card numbers, CVVs, or bank pins on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data for the following essential purposes:

• Facilitating secure live video connections and real-time canvas coordination.
• Evaluating AI prompts against your active credit balance and registering deductions in the ledger.
• Running localized automated card subscription renewals and processing payout transactions via Paystack.
• Improving the accuracy of speech-to-text voice refinements for student input.
• Providing active low-balance warning alerts and billing notifications.

4. Third-Party Data Handlers

We do not sell or lease your data. We share specific details only with verified service providers to operate Teleteacher:

• Paystack: Transmits billing transactions and settles MoMo/card subscription payments securely.
• Google Gemini API: Processes your academic queries to generate responses, lesson outlines, grader evaluation drafts, and OCR scans.
• LiveKit: Coordinates high-performance real-time WebRTC audio and video packets.
• Firebase Hosting & Firestore: Secure cloud data storage and authentication management.

5. Data Security & Retention

We employ advanced TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest to protect user profile data. Access tokens are verified on each API call.

UserData is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request account deletion or data extraction at any time by contacting our local data protection team. Ledger histories are archived for tax and compliance audits as required by local financial codes.

6. Your Data Rights

Under Act 843 of the Republic of Ghana, you possess the right to:

• Request details on what personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate personal files.
• Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing campaigns.
• Instruct the deletion of your account and related profile documents.
